Father of Groom's Name
I am trying to determine/decipher the name of the father of the groom, Fenton Green, on the first line in document. It appears to be "Lausey" or "Lansey" or possibly "Larisey". None of those given names make sense to me, but I wondered if perhaps one of those names was possibly typical in the African American community in the mid-19th century. Thoughts? I cannot locate any other records to verify it.

Lausey is how it is spelled, I'd guess it was something like 'Lawsey'...not common, but enslaved people would often be called with a diminutive 'ee
...diminutive 'ee' sound at the end of their names rather than the regular name...Sary instead of Sarah. Don't know if that was the African language effect or the enslavers' choice.
