Help Needed to Find a Location

Hi! I need help with what to put for a 'place of death' from a translation that I'm very grateful to have!:

"[…] was found in the district of Worms [near?] Rohrbache in the waterless Altbach not far from the Bavarian border, a few hundred steps from the railroad hut #1."

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello @GFre,

Based on @sylviaelchinger1's excellent translation of record no. 36 where the decedent "was found in the district of Worms", I would suggest you use Worms as the place of death.

If you feel more detail about where he was found (i.e. "found in the district of Worms [near?] Rohrbache in the waterless Altbach not far from the railroad hut #1"), you could add this additional information in a note.

I agree with @Robert Seal_1 that "Worms" is the correct place of death to be entered for Johann Nicolaus Brag.

if you want to know the location more precisely, you can proceed as follows. Open the map for https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/21193024 in Meyers Gazetteer and enlarge the scale as much as possible so that the historical map is just still displayed. Now follow the railroad line that leads exactly south. Shortly before the border with Bavaria (red line), the railroad crosses a stream, the Alt-Bach, where the body was found.

The area was called "Rohrlache" (not Rohrbach) and was used during the Great Depression from 1932 as small suburban housing estate for homeless and unemployed families with many children. First called "Rosengrund" (Roseground) then Rohrlache settlement, it was renamed "Karl-Marx-Siedlung" after the Second World War. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl-Marx-Siedlung_%28Worms%29

I put "Worms" for the place of death and will include the additional information as a note. @Ulrich Neitzel, I also took a look at the map—thank you!! I really appreciated seeing the area where Johann Nicolaus died so that I can better understand this part of his story. It was also very interesting to learn about that area historically.
