Memories in Family Search are not retaining information
I have begun to add some stories into Family Search from my life. I noted that when doing this changes are not retained after submitting the story.
In the forum – the counsel provided was write your story, hit submit, and wait a few hours.
I did that yesterday.
What I noted or observed was that the preview of content, in the memories section, picks up the changes however the content still does not reflect the changes.
For example: I travel quite extensively and have flown over 1,000,000 miles (on just one airline)
In one story I updated that to reflect 1,200,000+ miles. A very simple change. Just a number. Nothing more. I put that upfront in the story. The 1,200,000 miles shows in the preview section (in memories) where you see the title and the first sentence or two of the story - but not in the actual content. When I open the actual story - it does not show the change from yesterday. It shows the old content. The actual change is not retained ,
The code may be old, I understand that. The expectation from users in general, however … and this is more than reasonable, is that if you provide an update to a story, it should be retained.
I have tested this on multiple browsers. Same story.
What I have noted is that changes to a title of a story are retained.
The only work around I have found so is to copy and paste what I have written, from a previous memory into a new memory, add the new information/stories and add it as a new memory and then delete the old memory.
I am assuming this is a work in progress .
