I was able to limit my search to 195 John Davies in the 1841 census. After I looked at 150 for the occupation found 1 at 70 years of age as a Black Smith. David Davies Father John Davies on the marriage to his second wife in 1847 is a smith. I found a John Davies on the 1851 census at 80 years of age as a black Smith. David Davies was born in aberporth Cardiganshire on the 1851 census. David Davies and his son are Smith Strikers on the 1851 census and change from colliers on the 1841 census. The black smith on the 1851 was born in Hay, Breconshire, Wales and is a widower and a lodger in Clifford, Breconshire. In the 1841 census married to an Elisabeth in Merionethshire, Wales. He is born out of county and She is born inside of County. All the grandchildren where christen in Monmouthshire as non conformist starting in 1824. I have not seen much building of Non Conformist church before 1821 in Genuki in Aberporth or Merionethshire. My thought is that the Shipping port brought John an his wife into the shipping yards of the navy in Aberporth, Cardiganshire south of Merionethshire because of his Smithing Ability. What I do not understand is why he would be so far from his birth place in Merionethshire. I also believe I found the death record of John Davies in April 1860 at 89 years of age. The temple work for John Davies was done in 1915 from the memories of the grandson John Davis and is recording in his temple journal. My father has sourced David Davies very well over the las 50 years but John Davies I am starting to source. Because of the extent of travel being non traditional for the time period, I would like others to take a look at my conclusions. Thanks

I found a Christening Record for a John Price Davies Born March 2, 1771 in Hay Breconshire. I found his death to be with the full name. But I have did a search for a census with the full name. Could I be looking at the same John Davies here?
