How to show the Roman version of Chinese name
- When using the set is for Hanzi and Roman for the Name of a person, you can put in the Chinese letters followed by the Roman name > press Save.
2. In a pedigree chart, only the Hanzi is shown, not the Roman version.
3. You can also reverse the entry, thus being the Roman and then the Hanzi > press Save
In a pedigree chart, only the Hanzi is shown, not the Roman version.
Upon going back to check to see that the Roman name was first, we found that it wasn't. We tried repeating step 3. That entry had switched back to Hanzi, then Roman.
So we are wondering if there is a way to force the Roman version of the name to be the "preferred", so it would show on the pedigree chart?
Is there a link or instruction that shows how to do this?
Thank you

Be sure you are using the correct language template when first entering the name. That is set when the Edit Name box is open using the button in the upper left hand corner.
Then go to your account icon in the top right corner, click to open the menu then choose Settings. Under the Account tab under Family Tree Preferences, turn Show Romanized Script on. This will display the Roman version of names to show in the header banner and on all pedigree charts.
See: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-set-family-tree-to-show-names-in-roman-script for more information. Note that the mobile app and Family Tree Lite do not have this feature.
