Translation of Witness Occupation: Anna Hemmer and Aloysius Hecker Marriage
Hello,
Thank you for your translation of Jakob Huchner's occupation. He was witness to the marriage of Anna Hemmer and Aloysius Hecher, the second marriage on the page.
Jakob Huchner: Please clarify the correct spelling of his surname. He is the owner of something in Koeflach. Thank you for translating what he is the owner of.
That is all I need from this record.
Thank you so much!

I looked in the Koeflach records and the closest match I could find is a Jacob Höcher who had a child Aloisia on 21 May, 1866. Here he is only listed as a "Burger" with no other occupation details. He would certainly be old enough to be a marriage witness in your record.
His surname is spelled much clearer in the index for Aloisia Höcher here:
I cannot figure out the occupation in your record.
Note that in the 1866 record Jacob Höcher's wife is Maria Wolf. There is a marriage of Jacob Hecher and Maria Wolf in Koeflach in 1853 so perhaps Jacob Höcher is related to your Aloysius Hecher and there is simply a spelling variation occurring.
In the 1853 marriage Jacob Hecher is a brick/tile maker as is his father Joseph Hecher from Gross St. Florian. Your Alois Hecker's father is also a Joseph Hecher who is also a brick/tile maker from Gross St. Florian. So your Alois seems to be a brother of Jacob Höcher/Hecher.
Edit to add: I found Jacob Höcher/Hecher's death record and there he is a brick/tile manufacturer and a "Realitätenbesitzer" (reality owner). His occupation in Alois Hecker's marriage record might be something like that but appears to be somewhat different.

My gosh! You have given me such a gift! You have also educated me. I need to process all of this and am adding the information to my tree. What a puzzle! I have a couple questions too.
First, I completely agree that Joseph Hocher / Hecher is Aloysius' brother and that Joseph's occupation is, as you say, a realty owner in Kolflach, and a brick / tile maker. Joseph's house number is either #62 or #61 in Markt / Koeflach, so that works too.
In Anna and Aloysius' marriage record the spelling of "realty owner" is not exactly the same but it is close enough. It's a long word to spell!
Questions:
On the marriage record of Joseph and Maria Wolf, if I may ask:
Joseph Wolf is Maria's father. What is his vulgo name and his home?
Maria Wolf is Maria's mother. What is her maiden name?
On the birth record of Aloisia: What is her godparent's name and occupation in Koeflach?
Thank you!

Here's my best attempt to answer your questions. Names are sometimes very challenging!
Questions:
On the marriage record of
JosephJakob and Maria Wolf, if I may ask:Joseph Wolf is Maria's father. What is his vulgo name and his home? I see it as Wagner, from Obergraden?
Maria Wolf is Maria's mother. What is her maiden name? I see it as Kolb, from Obergraden?
On the birth record of Aloisia: What is her godparent's name and occupation in Koeflach? I see it as frau Anna Hasenhütl, bürgersfrau in Köflach (Koeflach)
There is a village Graden about 15 km north of Koeflach so Obergraden might just be a part of that or adjacent to it. But there is also an area abutting the east side of Koeflach that is identified as Obergraden by Mapcarta. It seems to be a hill rather than a collection of dwellings:
Edited to add:
It must be the Obergraden on the east edge of Koeflach. Maria's 1829 birth/baptism is recorded in Koeflach parish with the residence as Obergraden.
There is yet another "known as" (vulgo) surname given for the father Joseph Wolf but I cannot decipher it.
Joseph Wolf and Maria Kolb's 1826 marriage in Koeflach parish (Ort Obergraden):

Hi Greg,
My questions have been answered and then some! Thank you!
I have been using Arcanum maps, but will also try Mapcarta in the future.
There are some connections in my family tree to the Wagner vulgo name. I have noted all of your finds!
Thank you and have a great Friday. Tammi
