Invited but not associated to the tree????
When I created the family group, I might have done the steps backwards. At first I invited people to the group/ tree. Then the next time I created a profile for an individual on the tree then invited them. Seeing a difference between a check box next to their name, I knew I needed to make a profile for those who got the first invite. Even is I now create a profile for the first invites, I can not connect them to the created profile in the tree image. But I can not get the two process to connect. Here is a snippet of what I am seeing. All have invites, but not all have a check, indicating they are associated.

Unfortunately, we other users can't see your image. But if I understand your concern properly, what you are seeing, I think, is people who have not responded to your invitation. When you send out an invitation, that person has to come to the group tree where the first thing that happens is that he or she is presented with a profile and asked "Is this you?" If the person says yes, then he or she is associated with that profile and gets the blue checkmark. In other words, you cannot create a blue checkmark for anyone other than yourself. Each individual in the group has to create their own checkmark.

Thanks @Gordon Collett for explaining that. Let me add a little bit. When you either turn on tree for an existing group, or invite folks before creating them in the tree, they will each need to sign in and the first time they view the tree it will find a tree person that seems to match their personal profile and ask if that is them in the tree. They will click either YES, CONTINUE or No. CHANGE STARTING PERSON. However, in order for them to view the tree, they must have turned on the Family Group Tree experiment. (If you send the invitation AFTER turning on the Tree in your group, it will include the 'turn-on' information as part of the invitation link.)
So, first. Each family member should go to the main information page and click TURN ON EARLY ACCESS:
Then they should see the View Tree button in the Group Details page. When they click the View Tree button it should bring them to a pop-up to choose who they are in the tree:
As Gordon mentioned, you will not see the check until your family members have come into the group and connected themselves with a profile in the Family Group Tree.
