Can anyone read this 1798 civil birth record from Germany?
If someone would be kind enough to transcribe this handwriting, I can probably translate most of it. I was told this a birth record for Johann Henrich Karl Schaun (oldest brother of my 2nd great grandfather) who I have been told was born in Offenbach am Glan, Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany on 2 or 12 October 1798. His parents were Johann Christian Schaun and Catharina Ledig according to other sources.
I am especially interested in names, ages, occupations and other details that may be contained in this document, so feel free to include guesses but please put question marks anywhere you lack certainty.

The handwriting is hard to read but Napolean required use of French language rather than German. I cannot read this handwriting, but I'm pretty sure it is French.

I took French in high schoool, and this does not look like French to me. It looks German

@Gary Knecht You may want to post this in the Germany Group, Gary, since it is in German except for the dates.

Thanks @PABulfinch. I already did and already got an almost perfect translation. I have no idea how anyone can read this, but obviously they can. And it was helpful. I have another document (in French) that I may post for help reading the handwriting.
