Hello @TrishAndersen,
Here's my translation which you can compare with yours -- and yes, I think it's "4 July":
1764 on 4 July Johann Peter Boseck, age in the 40th year.
Comment: "age in the 40th year" means the person is past 39 but not yet 40.

I am needing a relook at the age written here at his passing. After a thorough search there is no record of his birth in the year 1724. I have a record of birth in 1716 over in Kroffelbach that I maintain is him. No record found in Biskirchen. The marriage record for Johann Peter and Katharina Margaretha Klepper is for 20 Nov 1736 in Biskirchen. A 1724 birth makes him 12, the 1716 birth he is 20. Can your eyes possibly decipher an age of 48 instead of 40? Clerical error it will be declared--and he had 9 children starting in the year 1738 all in Biskirchen.
Marriage record provides no evidence of fathers name either which was previously looked at. (I want to be done stressing over this one---laugh with me please)

Hello Trish,
I don't see 48 BUT the phrase "alt in die 40 Jahre" could translate as: age in the 40s/old in the 40s.
That would work with both the marriage record of 1736 and the birth record of 1716, especially if you feel the 1716 birth record is definitely "your" person.
Don't stress -- relax and enjoy.
