Advice: This seems like the right ship record: Dates don't add up to his birthdate. Opinions?
I am currently looking at getting a researcher to help me find birth record in Romania (was Austria-Hungary). I am gong through my records to gather everything. Looking at this ship record that dates have a discrepancy so I wanted opinions? Is it still the right record? In census and other document it listed him as immigrating in 1905 which this is (Left in 1905, arrived 1906). He raised his family in North Tonawanda, Ny which I have many documents proving that. I have one other documents saying his last residence was Tamas Gsargnata (Temesgyarmat), Austria-Hungary. I also have a document saying he came over on the Carpathia. All of that info matches this ship record.
The piece that does not match: George Miskho (Gyorgy Miksa) lists he was 18. On every document other sources he lists his birthday as 29 Dec 1885. The ship left Fiume mid Dec 1905 so he would of been 20 when he left not 18.
I attached documents and included the ship records online address.

Keep in mind the following:
The ship left port on December 14 or 19, 1905. George wouldn't have celebrated his 20th birthday until December 29, 1905. Thus, when the ship left port in Europe, George was 19. Now his recorded age is only 1 year off.
I believe you have the correct ship manifest for George. Ages can and often do vary by a year or two. If this is the only discrepancy and all the other documents match, simply be sure to inform your researcher about this minor age discrepancy.
P.S. In U.S. censuses, I have seen the same person's age vary dramatically from one census to the next, much more than by a year or two. I even had one family that all ended up being 5 years younger in a later census than they were in the census 10 years earlier.

You're welcome. The declaration of intention and the petition for naturalization very closely match the ship manifest. I don't think you have to worry. It appears you have excellent documentation to give your researcher.

Robert, keep in mind that Levente is one of us contrary Hungarians. :-) (Tóth is his surname.)
