Translation request - birth record Paulus Czachor 1844
Requesting help with the translation of this birth record. I am missing quite a bit. I cannot make out the 2nd number for the baptism date, or all of the witnesses. Thank you, I appreciate it. Mattie

Birth record no. 4, Przewrotne Parish, Kłapówka, of Paulus (Paweł in Polish) Czachor, house no. 144, born on the 23rd January 1844, baptized on the 23rd, January 1844, a Roman Catholic, legitimate son of Franciscus (Franciszek in Polish) Czachor, a farmer and of Catharina (Katarzyna in Polish), born Smyrska, daughter of Adamus (Adam in Polish) Smyrski. Godparents: Stanislaus (Stanislaw in Polish) Bielin, and Eva (Ewa in Polish), wife of Stanislaus (Stanislaw in Polish) Pytlak, local farmers.
Mattie, it is interesting that the recorder wrote that Pawel Czachor was born on the 23rd January 1844, and then wrote different version of 23rd as the date of his baptism. But please look at the part of the next page, where there are consecutive numbers for birth records, and the record No. 13 where 3 is very similar to the 23rd of baptism of Pawel. It is also logical that he was born on the 23rd and baptized on the 23rd. He could not have been baptized on the 22nd (as it looks like it) a day before he was born.
Please note that the last column in heading is Patrini which means Godparents. In those records of Galicia, witnesses are in marriage records and patrini or godparents in baptismal records.

Dear Maria,
Thank you for unraveling this record. I am always learning with each translation. I could not make sense of the baptism date. I had read about the Godparents when it was Galacia, I need to look at the ledger headings each time to be more accurate. I appreciate all of the help. Thank you,
Mattie
