d. 9 Febr. starb seel. der Hochwohl Ehrwürdige und Hochwohlgelahrte Herr Johann Georg Kümpel Diaconus an der allhiesigen Stadt Kirche. Er war gebohren zu Wernshausen d. 21 Jan. 1724. Nachdem er auf der Schul zu Schmalkalden einen guten Grund in den Humanioribus geleget, und seine academischen Studien zu Jena in einer Zeit von 3 Jahren vollendet, so wurde er 1747 in numerum Candidatorum reverendi Ministeri aufgenommen. Derselbe erhielt den Beruf zum allhiesigen Diaconat 1759. Bey seiner sonstigen guten Gesundheit wurde er mit einem hizigen Fieber, da er Fest. Purif. Mar. zum letzten mal gepredigt, befallen am 6ten Tag der Krankheit büßte er schon sein Leben ein, und hat also nur 44 Jahr 2 Wochen und 4 Tage in dieser Pilgrimschaft gelebet. Die Beerdigung geschah d. 12, und wurde über den Seph. apoc. II v. 10 Sey getreu bis an den Todt gepredigt. Die Sorlutation(?) thate S.J. Herr Rector Abt. Der seel. Herr Diaconus war ein Mann von einer gründlichen Gelehrsamkeit, erbaulichem Vortrag, und recht __sterlichen Leben.

On 9 February blessedly died the Most Reverend and Most Learned Mr. Johann Georg Kümpel, Deacon at the local town church. He was born in Wernshausen on 21 January 1724. After he had laid a good foundation in the humanities at the school in Schmalkalden, and completed his academic studies in Jena in a period of 3 years, he was accepted in 1747 to the "numerum Candidatorum reverendi Ministeri" (the list of candidates for the church service?). He received the call to the local Deanery in 1759. With his otherwise good health, he was stricken with a severe fever as he preached for the last time on the Fest of Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary [2 February]; he lost his life on the 6th day of the illness, and thus lived only 44 years 2 weeks and 4 days in this pilgrimage. The funeral took place on the 12th, and was preached about Revelation 2 verse 10 Be thou faithful until death.The sermon was preached? by S.J. Mr. Rector Abt.
