Johann Christoph Kümpel, ledigen Standes in Altenbreitungen, gestorben d 23. Mai früh zwischen 7 und 8 Uhr an Altersschwäche seines Alters 72 Jahre 7 Monate und 30 Tage, wurde d. 15. vormittags zwischen 10 und 11 Uhr mit Grabrede und Gesang beerdigt. Derselbe war zu Wernshausen geboren d. 14 September 1787, der Vater Johann Adam Kümpel, ___ister und Mühlenbesitzer in Altenbreitungen, die Mutter Sara Philippina, geborene Ek__mann von Wernshausen, hat sich 1814 und 15 an den Freiheitskriegen betheiligt.

Translation:

Johann Christoph Kümpel, unmarried in Altenbreitungen, died on May 23rd between 7 and 8 a.m. from old age at 72 years 7 months and 30 days, was buried on the 15th in the morning between 10 and 11 o'clock with a funeral eulogy and singing. He was born in Wernshausen on September 14, 1787, his father [was] Johann Adam Kümpel, ___? and mill owner in Altenbreitungen, his mother Sara Philippina, née Ek__mann from Wernshausen, he took part in the wars of liberation in 1814 and 15.

Comment:

There seems to be an error in either the age or the date of birth. For 14 Sep 1787 as the date of birth and 23 May 1860 as the date of death the age would be 72 years, 8 months, 9 days.
