Camberwell London Christening Records for >1860's
The British Census records of 1871-1891 say that some of my relative's children were born in Camberwell and yet I can't find any of their records on Ancestry, Familysearch. One of the oldest children came up on the civil records in Camberwell, London in Findmypast.com. What happened to the parish records? I'm not sure if they were christened in St. Giles. Have the records been indexed? Were they destroyed? Another strange thing is that many of their birthplaces switch from Cookham, Surrey to Camberwell, Surrey, depending on the census. Was there an area in Camberwell called "Cookham" that doesn't exist any longer? Thanks!

Not everyone was baptised in those days non-conformism was rife in the early 1800s and not all such churches practiced infant baptism.
Cookham, Surrey does ont exist. Cookham is in Berkshire. A google search does not indicate that a place called Cookham was part of Camberwell. There is nothing to that effect in the Wiki article on Camberwell.
The St Giles records have been transcribed in FamilySearch. However, there does appear to be a gap between 1764 and 1801.
