Marriage Record No. 11, Scan No. 164 of 269, Dabie, Evangelical Parish, dated the 31st March 1869, of Augustyn Henryk (Heinrich) Scheunert, a bachelor, working with linen, 22 years old, living in Dabie since birth, son of Karl Scheunert and of his wife, Karolina, born Figulus, residents of Dabie, and of a maiden, Berta Emilia Ziegler (Cigler written in Russian in index for year 1869), 19 years old, living with her parents in Dabie, of Lutheran faith, daughter of Karol Ziegler (here written erroneously in Russian as Scheunert), a clothier, and of his wife, Wilhelmina, born Reich. This marriage was preceded by Marriage Banns. No impediment detected. The prenuptial agreement entered into with Notary on the 22nd February 1869. Witnesses: Karol Scheunert (should be Ziegler), 59 years old, working with linen, father of the bride, and Wilhelm Muhler, a clothier, 39 years old, both from town Dabie.

Thank you. This one has me pondering. Berta would be my mother's grandfather's sister. The only information my mother had listed was a married name of Scheunert and the place of Dabie. The age of Berta matches up, as well as her mother Wilhelmina Reich. Berta's father's name would be Wilhelm Ziegler. Is it possible if they wrote down the wrong last name, they did the same with Karol? Any thoughts you may have regarding, are welcome.

You are correct. Marriage in year 1869 was the beginning of writing records in Russian language. The recorders at times had difficult time to organize the information. The best is to compare it with the birth record of Bertha Emilia Ziegler:

Birth Record No. 193, Dabie, Evangelical Parish, of Bertha Emilia Ziegler, born in Dabie on the 13th October 1849, christened on the 21st October 1849, daughter of Wilhelm Ziegler (acc. to his signature, otherwise Cygler), master clothier, 23 years old, and of his wife, Wilhelmina, born Reich, 22 years old.
