Meaning of “AA” in Latin baptism record
Hello everyone,
The following baptism record (Act 40, bottom of left page) for Justina Gawronska contains the acronym “AA” where most other records say “CC”.
Does anyone know the meaning of this, and whether it refers to the parents or the witnesses? Is it perhaps “Acatholica” (non-Catholic)? Thank you!

You may be right, however, their names are very Polish and they do not suggest that they were of Evangelical or Jewish faith.

Hi Maria, I should have mentioned that there is another record of the same baptism (in registry form) which clearly identifies the parents’ religion as “Religio Acatholica” (top record on the page). I was wondering if the acronym just restates the same or gives new information (such as the exact nature of the parents’ religion).
Best regards,

Acatholica - simply means non-Catholic. Maybe in future records of your ancestors there will be more information about their religion.
