General customs question - Alswede PR

Jenealogy

In many of the Alswede parish records, the gevattern are cited as "Trin Wisbrokers sohn Lulfe". My question - is there an age that this "gevattern" would need to be (I'm referencing the sohn, Lulfe)?

I believe the basic church requirement was/is that the sponsor was confirmed (usually at an age of 14 or 15 years), but commonly the sponsor would be of legal age, i.e., over 21, 23 or 25 years depending on local law.
