Tranlation of marriage record from Hesse, Germany, Marriages, 1849-1930 please
Hi there
I am trying to figure out if this person is related to our family.
I found the record on Ancestry attached as a source to the possible father of my second great grand Aunt Mathilda Hebel Female born 7 July 1842 – 24 June 1913 : L8LC-G3Q
Thank you very much for any help.
Very appreciated.
PS: I hope PNG format is acceptable

The record (righthand page) is for the marriage of Anna Maria Hebel (b. 19 Jan 1853) and Wilhelm Heinrich Schmeisser.
It seems not to be the person you look for.

Hi Ulrich
Thank you so much for your comments regarding the marriage mentioned.
Would you please tell me if any parents are mentioned please?
Do you think Maria Hebel could be a sister to Mathilde as she is born in 1842 and marries in 1859 to August Lucas Julius Heidmüller Male 1832–1886 ID: 9D9X-KR9.
This marriage date is close enough for them to be sisters.
Also does it mention an occupation for either of them?
Look forward to your comments
All the best
Miriam

Hello Miriam,
here comes the translation of the record:
No. 1325
Frankfurt/Main, December 24, 1877
Before the undersigned registrar appeared today for the purpose of marriage:
1. the mailman Wilhelmus Heinrich Schmeisser, widower, personally known, lutheran, born 2 November 1830 at Kahles, district of Cassel, residing at Frankfurt/Main, Altemainzergasse No.84, son of the deceased married couple Ludwig Schmeisser, ___?, and Anna Christina née Gischeler, last residing in America and Kahles,
2. Anna Maria Hebel, cook, personally known, catholic, born 19 January 1853 at Camp, district of Wiesbaden, residing at Frankfurt/Main, daughter of the married couple Jacob Hebel, road supervisor, and Elisabeth née Geis residing at Camp.
Without further details it would be very speculative to state that Mathilde and Maria are sisters.

You should look for the second page of the marriage record, which contains the witnesses. Sometimes the status of the witnesses will reveal a relationship to the bride or groom, and this may provide a clue to help you in your search.

Here is a link to the second page of the marriage certificate, just in case it contains necessary information for your search. (It's from a German website where the scans of many documents from Hesse are published.

Correction: the name of the groom is Nikolaus Heinrich Schmeisser.

Your Mathilda did have a father named Jacob per her death record. But since she married at age 16 in New York it is unlikely to be the Jacob Hebel in the above translated record. It would have been very unusual for a girl that young to have left her parents in Germany and traveled to America. It is more likely you will find her parents in the New York area.
For example, this 1855 census could be Mathilda and her family:
The family in 1850 and 1860:

Note that the Mathilda previously listed in this family is not living with her parents in the 1860 census but your Mathilda and her new husband are here in 1860:

Also note that your Mathilda and the other Hebel family are both residing in Flushing. So there is a good possibility that this New York Jacob Hebel is your Mathilda's father. You might want to dig deeper into records for the parents and siblings of this family and see if you can further connect them to your Mathilda.
