Translation help please - Alswede
There are 2 entries that I would appreciate help with:
Here's what I have transcribed:
1729
51. das 28th Jul:
Henrich Gläsekers militis [mulitis?] Hannov:
ü. sein: fra: ehel: tochter Marie Engel
gvt: ist Anne Marie Gläsekers
Does it look like the word after the father's name is "militis" and perhaps means that he was in the military in Hannover? If so, would the mother (perhaps Anne Marie Glasekers) brought the child for christening?
Secondly, there is a burial that I don't understand some of the parts for. Here is my best transcription:
1729
81. das 29th dito [8ber]
Henrich Gläseker: NB: ist todt im Wesses gefün?? ü. in aller SSille? begrabes? dd 1 tt
Can you explain/transcribe those part which are incorrect? Perhaps this is the father of Marie Engel Glasekers above and he died in Wesses while in the military?
Also you will be able to see the burial of Marie Engel Glasekers the next month:
1729
96. das 30 dito [9ber]
Marie Engel Gläsekers alt 15 wks dd 1 tt
[although not exact, this child was about 17-1/2 weeks old]
Your insight and help are much appreciated!

"militis" is the genitive of Latin "miles" = soldier. So originally it would be translated as "of the soldier". However, in church Latin it may just be used as the nominative " a soldier".
The transcription of the death record is:
81. d[en] 29 dito [8ber] Henrich Gläseker: NB: ist todt im Waßer gefund[en] u. in aller Stille? begraben dd 1 tt
Translation:
81. On 29th of the same month [October] Henrich Gläseker: NB: is found dead in the water and quietly buried dd 1 tt
"dd 1 tt" probably refers to the fee paid for the burial

Thank you Ulrich! So sad that Henrich died while in the military.
