Looking for Resources
I am sure the information is here somewhere, but I just can't find it! I am looking for a resource that might have some of the more standard headings a person would find in German church and civil records. Although I can go through the process of deciphering the printed words and then using an app to translate them, I was kind of hoping there might be some source that has already done that! Ideas? Just to clarify, I already know about (and use) the Family Search wiki section that has lists of words that are commonly used, as well as examples of old German script. Thanks!

Hello @KarenGrabowski,
The German civil registration records (begining in 1876 ) were pre-printed forms with fill-in blanks.
The following might help: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/img_auth.php/d/d7/German_Handwriting_Seminar_2020,_handout_(1).pdf
See "CIVIL BMD RECORDS LAYOUT" section on pages 2-4.

Thank you, Robert. I have seen that - and I will go back and look at it more carefully. I appreciate your suggestion.

You're welcome, Karen.
Re: German church parish records: The headings vary so much across the various parishes that I don't know if there is a site which shows "standard" parish register headings; these may have to be translated on a case-by-case basis.

Parish headings became more standardized over time, especially after 1800 or so. See https://play.google.com/books/reader?id=NtVDAAAAcAAJ&pg=GBS.PA394&hl=en for the Württemberg decree as to what each type of church record should contain. Other states/dukedoms/principalities etc. may have issued similar regulations.
