Note added with pencil: Nach Amerika in d (= den or die?) Morm….(?) - the family emigrated to America, and I assume the "Morm…" has to do with Mormons, but cannot decipher the entire word.
According to your data on https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/portrait/KWJN-CH6 Jakob is the brother of Elisabeth (1824-1874): we had discussed her "Taufzettel" on https://community.familysearch.org/de/discussion/136266/1857-document-also-has-the-date-of-1824. If you don't mind, I would like to show this nice document to the members of https://www.geneal-forum.com/, together with a short note on the context, and this transliteration above. Finally a question about the source "family book 1860": I have re-translated it into "Familienbuch" ... but is that the correct reference? The scan looks more like a state, not church register ... and these state registers are usuall called something like "Bürgerregister" or "Burgerrodel". Do you have a copy of a title page at hand, or some other info about the correct reference?

WSeelentag I call it a "family book" because it resembles other family books I have seen. I have seen hundreds like it. The photo of the page was taken by a relative who was visiting in Switzerland. I have no other reference. The Bachman's attended church in Reitinau. The civil records are held in Bottenwil which is in the opposite direction. You may be right about it being a state register. I have not seen any state registers that look similar so I bow to your knowledge.

There is no fixed naming convention (certainly not for all of Switzerland). "Familienbuch" is most often used for church records, i.e. the pastor (or a helper) compiled all members of a family on a single page, based on baptismal, ... registers; printed forms were an exception. In most cantons around 1830 "Bürgerregister" were introduced, to be kept by the community administrations - and usually they had printed forms. Hence my assumption. Whilst the content may be identical, they were organised by a different institution, usually in a different format.
I would like to give a correct reference - so I'll try to find out 🙂.

Just to let you know, I looked for the reference e.g. title page of the "family book 1860", but didn't find it - since the records for Bottenwil and Reitnau are not available on FamilySearch or at a Family History Center.

Thank you for your efforts, @Debra Palmer01 ... I know these (like many Aargau records) have not been filmed by familysearch. I had contacted the Bottenwil administration - and they informed my that the book is now kept at the Civil Registry Office in Zofingen - and they kindly supplied me with the correct reference: Bürgerregister Bottenwil AG, Band 1, Seite 441. I have corrected this on https://www.geneal-forum.com/phpbb/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=32571&#p121697.
