I would start by contacting the person who entered the date of death on the familysearch ID and asking for their source of information.

Look at the sources you already have for Gustav Michael Wilhelm. In the 1940 census, he was 58 and living with his wife Augusta who was 56. They had no children living with them. They were living in Brooklyn in New York City. Unless he moved, I would be looking in that area for his death record.

Part of the problem is that he is reported to have died in 1918 by someone and there is the 1934 immigration record of a widow Helene Blume born in the same town as Gustav's wife Helene, which would mean he likely died in/near Braunschweig.
So the mystery is who is the William Blume in the 1940 census with Helene Blume?
There is likely more than one Helene Blume and their records/information are mixed in this ID.

Thank you @JohnsonGreg and @sueungricht oh what a mess.. My Nephew is Landon Blume who did something with a William who I believe is the same as Gustav and Augusta is the middle name of my Great Grandmother Helene Ida Augusta Nack
My nephew is not active with Family search now. The Census has him listed as William. not sure why the census says same house everyone on that list.. Would be pretty crowded :) My grandmother Helene who I call Oma was buried in the states (Pennsylvania) Oh what a tangled web.

It would be best to start with what you know with certainty and then work up your ancestry record by record. Since there is conflicting data (and almost no records attached to support the data) on your great grandparents, I suggest you start with your grandmother Helene.
1) Was your grandmother married to Walter Wadsack in Braunschweig in 1932? Do you have a copy of their marriage record?
2) Was she born in Braunschweig on 16 Oct 1908? Do you have a copy of her birth record?
3) Did they immigrate in 1951?

4) Did Helene die in 1978 and Walter in 1985? Where did they die?
5) Do you have any actual records that show Helene's parents names? (not other trees, the actual church or civil records)

@Sheila DuBois , I did some more looking at your grandmother Helene's records as well as her brother Herman and her reported parents.
I think that most of the information about them is probably correct except for that 1940 census. That 1940 census record is for a different William/Wilhelm and Augusta Blume. It is not for your great grandparent Helene Blume. Evidence is that that couple also appears as a married couple in New York in the 1950 census.
Your great grandparent Helene Blume is living with your grandmother's brother, Herman, in 1950. So she cannot be the Augusta Blume in the 1940 and 1950 census with a husband Wilhelm/William.
Your great grandmother came to the US in 1934, returned to Germany before 1940, and returned to the US again in 1947.
In all these records, your great grandmother is a widow. So her husband likely died in the Braunschweig area.
Herman's (your grandmother's brother) marriage record does indicate that his parents names are Gustav Blume and Helen Nach (so Helene Nack makes sense).

It looks like someone has done a tremendous amount or work on your ancestors. Unfortunately, they didn't attach any records to support their work. You might want to contact the individuals who entered all the information about your many ancestors in familysearch and ask if they could share their records with you. The alternative would be to start requesting records from the local authorities if they aren't available online. At least many of the key dates have been entered.
