Clarification on a place name, please
I am looking at some records from the area that mostly shows "Osterode, Allenstein, OstPreussen" area. They are all in German. I have come across a town shown as Ogrzewalla. I have checked Meyers Gazetteer as well as a list I found of place names in Poland with alternative spellings, but nothing seems to match.
Can anyone tell me if this is/was a place in Poland, and if it was, what is the area that would be the same locale in modern Poland? Thanks very much!

Could it be Ogrodtken? Do you have examples of the written town name that you could post?
Or could it be a surname rather than a place name. I am seeing people with that surname in Osterode records:

Karen,
If you go on Kartenmeister.com, you can see that the Polish name for Osterode is Ostroda (since it is in Poland today). Kartenmeister is a great website that gives you lots of good information. Then I would go to mapa.szukacz.pl and type in Ostroda and click on the drop down menu to the town with the diacritic over the second o.
Mapa.szukacz is a map website for Poland today that also tells what area and province the town is in. You can zoom in and out by clicking different circles in the Zbliz column.
That said, I typed Ogrzewalla into Kartenmeister and I am leaving you a link to that. There is not much information there, but it is a German place name and it is spelled correctly. I clicked on the link for Google Maps and a nearby village is Wigwald. Put that in Mapa.szukacz. It looks like that village is no longer there.
If you are looking for records for that town, I would look in nearby places since now you have a location.

Thank you very much! Wigwald I am well familiar with, so that also helps put it in perspective. I will check out the links!
