Great-grandmother inquiry
I am looking for ANY information on my great-grandmother, but have hit roadblock after roadblock. Can you please give me any hints on how to find any records for her. I have attached the birth record for 2 of her children, my Opa and his brother, in case it helps. I would love to get a birth, marriage or death record (she died quite young).

Both records say that your great-grandmother's name was Erna Christiana Marie Loof, nee Teidemann, wife of Georg Ferdinand Karl Loof, both Lutheran. The town is Bündheim, and according to the second record, is now part of Bad Harzburg. FamilySearch, Ancestry, and Archion (the place to go for Lutheran records, $) all have some records for Braunschweig (the state where this town is located), but none of them seem to have anything online for the town. In this case, you'd have to write to the Standesamt in Bad Harzburg to see if they have a copy of the marriage or death record for Erna.
As a side note, each of these records has stamps at the bottom, indicating where the sons were married. For Wilhelm Georg Otto, it is record #10 in 1935 in the town of Jübar, Kreis Salzwedel. For Karl Friedrich Oskar, it lists three marriages plus his death - M1: record #1 in 1936 in Wobeck, M2: record #459, 21 April 1945 in Berlin-Kreuzberg to Klara Spiela, M3: record #32, 18 July 1958 in Bündheim to Gertrud Selma Richert, and death record #412, 12 September 1998 in Berlin/Treptow. Sometimes marriage records may give more information about the parents, e.g. if they are already deceased (and the really informative records may give information about when they died). So it's worth trying to find these marriage records, if nothing else, to pin down a year range for when Erna died.
