Here's the translation of the obituary:
Carried to the grave
To the accompaniment of a large number of mourners, the earthly remains of Mr. Bernard Ripkin were buried in the St. Paul cemetery yesterday. Pastor Paul H. Schnatz, of the St. Paul parish, held a memorial service at the home of the deceased, 100 North Bruce St., which relatives and friends of the deceased attended. The coffin was decorated with a number of magnificent floral tributes. Members of the "German Support Association No. 111," Messrs. Joseph Loeblein, August Loeblein, Charles Quant, Joseph Frauenknecht, Hermann Brill, and John Schubert, paid their last respects to the deceased by acting as pallbearers. Mr. Ripkin succumbed to a lengthy illness at the age of 57. He came from the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg, and came to America about 35 years ago. For 13 years he operated the grocery store at 100 North Bruce St. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Deina Ripkin, he leaves behind three sons, Charles, John, and Max Ripkin, three daughters, Mrs. Frank Murray, Elizabeth and Dorothy Ripkin, as well as seven grandchildren.
