2) What is the notation in the margin. Other notations on this page appear to me to possibly be Bible verses. His is not really clear.

It says "cop [e]st", which is short for "copulatus est" meaning "is married
I think your idea that the margins are Bible verses is correct. I can see what appear to be references to the all four canonical Gospels and Numbers, Psalms, James, Romans and Colossians. I would guess that "Pil" means the Letter to the Philippians. (the letter to Philemon has only 1 chapter).

I read the first letter of the Bible chapter as the greek letter "phi" which represents the "ph" sound. So the abbreviation may be: Phil 3:20.
Philippians 3:20: But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ

Thank you both for these responses. This is very interesting. Although I have found Bible verses noted in some American church records, particularly for Confirmations, I have never before seen Bible notations German church records. Since the marriage information for this couple is so very brief, adding the Bible verse will help to personalize the event. Again, thank you I appreciate your quick responses and help.
