Hello David,
I was also puzzled by this location. It is apparently a combination auf three words Pühringer - Maurer - Häusl. Pühringer can be found on Google Maps, it's a very small village about 22 km north of Haarland. Maurer means bricklayer which is also the occupation of Karl Bergsmann. Häusl is the Austrian diminutive of Haus, meaning a small house. So it could mean something like "the small bricklayer's house in Pühringer".
Note that close to Pühringer on Google Maps there is also a place name "Pühringer-Häuser".
