What is Burgerrechtsregister?
Hello. While using the online Die Maus site for Bremen family research, I happened on a record of an ancestor under "Burgerrechtsregister". I would like to better understand what this registration means. I am including a photo of the page in the event it proves useful in answering my question.
The individual I have been researching is Erich Warner Pape. After his birth in1684 in Nienburg, he disappears from the Nienburg church books. Finding this mention of him was very exciting, but frankly, I don't know if it really helps me. I am unsure how to proceed with research in Bremen records or if this is enough of a lead to pursue it.
Thank you very much for your time and help.
I have not posted in Family Search Community for some time. I hope that I have posted correctly; if not, please let me know how to better post my questions to the group.

Hello Kathy,
The Bürgerrechtsregister is a directory of people who who have taken the oath as citizens, paid a fee, and thus acquired the citizenship of Bremen. I understand that only the name index is available online. The directory itself may contain more details, e.g. the birth place of the applicant (so you could verify that this really is your Erich Warner Pape). It should be available in the Staatsarchiv Bremen.
Maybe it would be a good idea to contact the people given under "Kontakt" on the "Die Maus" site to ask about the accessibilty (Margrit Stroebe: Stroebe@die-maus-bremen.de or Christa Lütjen: Luetjen@die-maus-bremen.de).

Thank you so much Ulrich! When I googled Burgerrechtsregister, I ended up with a definition of Burgerrecht as "civil rights". You provided a much better explanation of the register; I am very grateful for your help.
I will also reach out to the to the contacts from Die Maus as you suggested. I have been searching for Erich Warner Pape for a long time now and would like to be certain I am on the right track.
