Birthplace and surname help
Good day,
I could definitely use some help with 1. birthplace and 2. surname clarification.
I am having trouble identifying the bride's birthplace in this civil marriage registration from 1815. The groom lives in Fischenich and the bride in Kendenich, both are just south of Köln. The brides birthplace doesn't look like it is near where the bride was living at the time of the marriage. The birthplace looks to me like Chrudim or Chrudirn in Böhmen. In Mayer's Gaz I found this location for Böhmen, but I am not sure it is correct. https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10201038
In the entry for the groom, the mother's maiden name is entered and it is clear that is is a maiden name. In this entry, the bride, her father and her mother all seem to have the same surname, but the bride and mother have the feminine ending "in" at the end of the name. Any input on how to enter these names?
Thank you for all the time you give in helping us understand and enter these records correctly!
Vielen dank!!!

Hello @BetteB.
The bride was born in "Chrudim in Böhmen" = Chrudim in Bohemia (in the Czech Republic).
Here is a link about Chrudim from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrudim
Also note that Meyers Gazetteer only includes places in Germany, and thus the entry you found for Böhmen in Meyers Gazetter is not referring to the Chrudim in the Czech Republic.
Regarding the -in suffix on the female surnames, you should drop the "in" and simply enter the surname as: Schöffer.

Thanks so much. I wondered if the location was outside of Germany. I appreciate the explanation.
