Help with translation of birth record
Would appreciate help with translation of this birth record. I wrote away for the record of my great*2 grandfather, Joseph Hornbach born December 1816 but I think they may have sent the record for one of his brothers. It will be lovely to know what the record says in either case.
Thanks so much.

Hello @katherinehornbach,
Translation:
Birth Certificate of Johannes Hornbach.
In the year 1818, on the 1st of the month of October at 5:00 pm appeared before us, Johann Engerl Pabst, mayor and civil official of the community of Einselthum, canton of Kirchheimbolanden, district of Kaiserslautern, Kingdom of Bavaria, Christofel Hornbach, Catholic school teacher and farmer, age 37 years, residing in Einselthum, who declared to us that to him fron his wife Sofia Wolf a child of the male gender was born on the 1st of October at 1:00 pm, and to whom he gave the forename Johannes. The declaration and the presentation of the child was done in the presence of (1) Johannes Walter, farmer, age 55 years, and (2) Friedrich Schrepfer, grinder/miller, age 41 years, both residing in Einselthum, and the father and the wtinesses, after the document had been read, signed the present birth certificate with us.
[signatures of the father, both witnesses, and the mayor]
Comment: In the body of the record the father's first name is recorded as: Christofel. However, the father signs his first name as: Christoph.

Thanks once again for coming to my rescue. As I suspected, the Gollheim registry sent me the birth certificate for my g*3 grandfather's brother, not for my g*3 grandfather. The information is still useful, but I will need to get back to them asking for the correct document.
With much appreciation, Kathy Hornbach
