Help with occupation on marriage registration
Hello and Happy New Year!
On the marriage registration I am looking at from 1833, the bride and her mother have an occupation of "Maglöhnerin" and the father "Maglöhner". I believe Mag could indicate a maid but since the father has the same occupation I thought I would check my thoughts. How would we translate that into English? Thanks in advance for the help you provide here!!!

Hello @BetteB,
This scribe makes unusual captial letters.
The bride's occupation is "Magd" = maid. The word after "Magd" is a separate word "ehelichen" = legitimate, and is not part of the occupation.
The father's occupation is "Taglöhner" = day laborer. (Yes, that first letter is a captial T.)
The mother's occupation is "Taglöhnerin" which is the German feminine form for day laborer.

Thank you. That makes sense but my eyes weren't seeing that. I'll go back and look at it again and I'll learn.
Vielen, vielen dank!
