Are there immigration records from Italy to Prussia in the late 1700's or early 1800's?
I have an ancestor with the last name Matriciani. He is living in Danzig, West Prussia when he gets married in 1816. There is no information on the marriage record about his parents. I suspect that he or his parents immigrated from Italy. I am still combing through church records in Danzig for possible birth records, but I am also considering that he immigrated from Italy. His marriage and the baptisms of his children are recorded in a Lutheran church. His death and the deaths of 2 of his children are recorded in 2 different Catholic churches.

Hi, Bonnie:
I am going to give you the link to a couple of sites in FamilySearch.org.
First, there is the Italy group https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/108-italy-genealogy-research. The Italy group might be able to give you insight into some of your questions, too.
Second, here is the Italy Genealogy site in FamilySearch wiki https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Italy_Genealogy. If a visit has not been paid there already, I believe you will be amazed at how much information is found here.
Third, here is the link to the Emigration/Immigration records which re found on the FamilySearch wiki site https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Italy_Emigration_and_Immigration.
Keep me informed of your progress, OK, Bonnie? I wish you much success and patience. I am a great cheerleader during the times of frustration. PaulaAnn
