Bitte, hilfe mit 1783 Heiratsregister
Would someone please help me fill in the details of this 1783 marriage record for my 4th g-grandparents in Erfde, Germany? In particular I would like confirmation of the maiden names for Henning's mother and Trienke's mother.
My transcription:
Der [Junggeselle] Henning Volkers, des Hans Vol [-]
kers Hausmann in Scheppern, und [?]
Frau Lentje geb. [Goschen?] sohn.
mit? [?]
Jungfr. Trienke Hinrichs, des Jürgen
Hinrichs Hausmann in Bargen und
[?] frau Trienke geb. [Kutholter?] Tochter

Hello @Robt_Nielsen,
Excellent transcription from some very difficult handwriting:
Der [Junggeselle] Henning Volkers, des Hans Vol [-]
kers Hausmann in Scheppern, und dessen
Frau Lentje geb. [Goschen] Sohn. [I agree with you that the surname here is Goschen.]
mit der
Jungfr. Trienke Hinrichs, des Jürgen
Hinrichs Hausmann in Bargen und
dessen Frau Trienke geb. [Kutholter?] Tochter [I read the surname here as Kielholten.]
Comments: The word "Gesell" alone can mean journeyman/fellow/companion.
Perhaps the "en" suffix on both mothers' maiden surnames is similar to the "in" suffix we see on other female German surnames.

@Robert Seal_1 Thank you for that response. Yes I agree on the "en" suffix, partly because there were Gosch neighbors back in my home area of eastern Nebraska where so many of this family line settled.
Along the same lines regarding "Kielholten", I will look to see if I can find records that may list "Kielholt".
Thanks!

Actually, a quick search of a name register on Archion for that geographic area shows no "Kielholt" names, but lists a number of "Kielholz" names. Thanks for your brainstorming.
