What is the best way to copy an image from a restricted film in the FH catalog?
I saw an answer to my question recently but now I cannot find it. I have been enlarging the document as much as possible, copying the sections that were visible in the restricted area that we are allowed, and then reassembling it. This is tedious. There must be a better way. I do have Dropbox. Michaele Burris

I would saw if it is restricted there is a reason and you maybe wont be able to copy. I know when working with a patron in the FH center where I volunteer there was a batch of marriage records she was viewing, she could see them but was not allowed to print or download them. That was the restriction in place for the document.

I have contacted a Staff Member at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and it was his opinion that you cannot copy restricted records because the Church. does not own them. The records are owned by someone other than Church and owner is the one who has established the restriction. However, he further indicated that you can transcribe the record.
