Need further translation on great aunt's birth record
Hello, Can someone make out what the words are under New Orleans on the first image? Is the name of the Catholic parish?
On the other image can anyone make out more details of the translation? Loose translation: Joanna Carolina Catherine Diehl was born in New Orleans on 14 Feb 1843. Her parents were Johann Georg Diel and Maria Anna Becker of Wernborn, Germany. This birth record is based on the baptism record from the Catholic priest of the stated German Catholic parish (in New Orleans). The record was brought on 15 Feb 1846.
Note: What was the name of the "stated parish"?
Hope this makes sense!
Thank you!!

Hello @JulieDiehl1
First question: Neu Orleans in Nordamerica = New Orleans in North America.

Hello again @JulieDiehl1,
Here is a transcription of what appears in the second image:
Laut Taufschein vom katholische Pfarrer der deutschen Gemeinde in Neuorleans gebracht am 15ten Febr 1846.
Translation: According to the baptismal certificate brought by the Catholic pastor of the German parish in New Orleans on February 15, 1846.
Comments: I don't see a specific name of the parish in this entry.
The following link may help: http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~neworleans/religions/german_church_records/inventory.html#4
In particular, see the entry for church no. 4, German Catholic St. Mary’s Assumption Church Parish in Lafayette (1843).

Thank you so much!! These links look very interesting! I had just filled out a genealogy request for the New Orleans Archdiocese today and I'm going to mail that off tomorrow.
You're always so helpful :)
