Kirchdorf - baptism -1779 - Küenzi - place name?
The source is from FamilySearch: Tauf-Rodel, Staatsarchiv Bern, K Kirchdorf 3. The baptism record is on page 128, year 1779, entry 17, for Anna Küenzi.
I think my transcription is correct. My question is about the place of citizenship for the 2nd witness Anna Zug. The closest match I found on Ortsnamen.ch was Münsingen which could be a spelling variation of "Münsigen" in the record?

Perfect. Yes - Münsigen is just an older spelling for Münsingen - no alternative around. The surname (Zug) unfortunately doesn't to confirm - this family is extinct today.
BTW - thank you for adopting my suggestion on discussion titles - let's see how it this works out.

As you pointed out the family with the surname Zug is extinct today. That explains why I found no match for the surname on Register of Swiss Surnames. And your confirmation of the spelling for the witness's place of citizenship is helpful. Thank you again!

Well - my statement that the Zug family is extinct was based on the fact that they are not listed in the Register of Swiss Surnames 😉. "Extinct" does not imply that no descendants with this name are living today ... just not as Swiss citizens. They could all have emigrated - with numerous offspring - all with Swiss ancestors 😁.

Your explanation is helpful that "extinct" actually means the descendants of the Zug family are just not Swiss citizens today and through emigration they could possibly now live in other places outside of Switzerland. Thanks for your comment.
