Can someone please translate this Höhscheid death record?
I am pretty sure this is my 3rd great grandmother's death record. The striking of the word "ein" is unimportant but because this is a legal document, any changes to it needed to be noted and approved at the time the document was finalized and signed.

In the year 1873, on the 25th of the month of February in the afternoon at 4:00 pm appeared before me Rudolf Thomas, as the civil registrar of the Mayoralty District of Höhscheid: Carl Wilhelm Knecht, 71 years old, without occupation, residing in Kohlsberg, who stated he was the husband of the deceased, and Carl Knecht, 44 years old, polisher/grinder, residing in Kohlsberg, who stated he was the son of the deceased, and these two stated to me that on the 24th of the month of February of the year 1873 in the afternoon at 3:00 pm at Kohlsberg died: Anna Catharina Müller, wife of the first declarant, born at Gräfrath, Governing District Düsseldorf, 73 years old, without occupation, residing in Kohlsberg, Governing District Düsseldorf, daughter of the deceased married couple in Solingen, whose names and statuses were not provided.

My comment: Counting the heading "Sterbe-Urkunde" as line 1, count down to line 9 and note that the printed word "ein" is struck-through. The final sentence of the record: "The deletion of the printed word "a" is approved." is referring to this strike-out.

I see the "ein" is struck-through and its deletion approved. But I can't tell if this is important in any way. Seems pretty routine, but please advise if I'm missing something.
Anna Catharina was daughter of Peter Müller, who died in 1809, and Anna Catharina Hartkopf, whose death record I am still looking for. It's great to have her spouse's and son's ages to confirm their birth records and to know that her son was a grinder/polisher like so many others in this family.

It's pure semantics.
"Ein" in the context would be "a" (son, friend, ...).
The person reporting, however, was not A husband - he was THE husband.
