Translation help with abbreviations please.
I have been searching through Catholic records in Tilsit, East Prussia, and found these abbreviations in birth records. I seems to be on most of the birth records here, but I haven't seen it anywhere else - it certainly isn't on the Lutheran records. Does anyone know what these letters (boxed in red) stand for? I thought that it may have been connected to religion, but I really don't know.
Thanks in advance,
Dianne

Hello DIanne,
I believe LL.CC. is an abbreviation for Latin legitimorum coniugum (or similar) which means legitimately joined spouses.

Thank you so much, Ulrich Neitzel. I have checked it out now - legitimorum conjugum, and it all makes sense.
Until I joined this group recently, I wasn't really sure who to ask, but I obviously came to the right place.
Much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Dianne
