Bärstadt, on the 5th of March 1899.
Before the undersigned civil registrar appeared today for the purpose of marriage:
(1) the farmer Philipp Matthäus Besier, personally known, Protestant religion, born 16 May 1868 in Bärstadt, residing in Bärstadt, son of the farmer Georg Matthäus Besier and his wife Katharina Philippine, née Besier, residing in Bärstadt.
(2) Elisabetha Künstler, without occupation, personally known, Protestant religion, born 16 May 1872 in Bärstadt, residing in Bärstadt, daughter of the farmer Johannes Künstler and his wife Lisette, née Schneider, residing in Bärstadt.

As witnesses were brought in and appeared:
(3) the farmer Philipp Johann Besier, personally known, 56 years old, residing in Bärstadt.
(4) the farmer Martin Waldert, personally known, 39 years old, residing in Bärstadt.
In the presence of the witnesses the civil registrar asked the engaged couple one by one: whether they would declare that they wanted to enter into a marriage. The engaged couple answered this question in the affirmative and hereupon the civil registrar declared them now to be a legally married couple by virtue of the law.
