Thank you for the help this group has given me and others. My understanding of these early documents is limited but I am picking up on words little by little. Could someone please help me with this document translation? Thank you so much. Susan
It is from www.archion.de, Ziegenhain, Rorshain, Kirchenbuch, 1772-1838, Bild 983,1797 record #3. It appears to be for Maria Elizabetha daughter of Johannes Martin and Anna Elizabetha born Jox/Jax. I am so uncertain on the remaining part of the record.

Wiera, born on the 7th of December in the morning at 4:00 am. Baptismal sponsor/godmother was the mother's sister Maria Elisabetha, surviving widow of Joh? George _e_k?
Comments: The spelling of "George" with an "e" on the end is unusual in German. The name is typically spelled in German as: Georg. But if you look at the child's name in record (2) immediately above, that name is also spelled: "George". This might be a local variant spelling or an idiosyncrasy of the scribe.

Robert thank you so very much. I found it also unusual with an 'e' at the end. It really is such a complete record, isn't it? The mother Anna Elisabetha is in other records and her maiden name is spelled a different way in each record! Jox/Jax/Jaxen, etc. I did not know Anna Elisabetha had a sister so that is also added information. What a great find. Thank you once again ... Wiera has limited records that include my family so I am quite pleased. Susan
