I'm trying to help a member of my Ward here in the UK who is looking for her family/Ancestors who came from Prussia.

Does Silesia, which was in Prussia/ Germany, but was annexed to Poland after WW2 come under German research as it belonged to Germany at the time we are researching (birth in 1926)?

She believes the records for the town were destroyed by the Nazis during WW2. I'm struggling to find anything for her. Looking for a birth in Silesia in 1926. Any suggestions please?
