question about citations

I have written an archive office in Germany to request death records for my 2nd great grandparents. I have received those records but have no citations to include. Is it appropriate to write that office and request citations?

Absolutely, The Zurich archives has citations on every single record they own. It would be unusual to not have a citation. Name, date and place is good but most archives also have their own coding system where everything they process is done with a number. Notice the number in the upper left of this document.
Look at this page and scroll down to the yellow documents to see the citations. All the best, Kent
