I have traced a couple family members to their hometowns in the Poznan province. I would like to hire a researcher with access to the records to locate additional records and family. Can someone suggest a researcher or two?

I need assistance with Thomas Gnat (Gnacinski) born about 1801. He was married to Marianna Poczekay in 1829 in Słupy (Note: I have some details of the Poczekay lineage already). Thomas died in Karmelin on 1 March 1854. It is the Gnat lineage I need assistance with.

Do you have a scan of their marriage and Thomas' death ?

Do you have any children born to them?

While it is not known when Thomas moved his family west to Karmelin - definitely not before 1845, you need to check options. Have you gone over last 2 years of marriage records of Dluzyn, Posen, Germany to which Karmelin belonged to in search of marriages of any of their children . Their oldest children would be 16-17 years old in 1846-47 so there' s very little chance any of them got married within those two final years of that register but just in case it needs to get checked. Note, that Karmelin was named Harbielin or Charbielin at that time.

Hi,

I have a scanned image of Thomas's marriage and death record.

I know of 4 of his children all born between 1837 and 1846. Two of them died young.

I find the records very difficult to decipher and I am at a considerable distance from the FHL and cannot conduct the search myself.

Would you be able to assist me by searching records? If so, perhaps we should discuss in more detail via email? If not, is there someone you could recommend for me to contact?

I have researched baptisms 1846-55 of Dluzyn parish in search of any late births - no record as well; as marriages 1846-7 - no record.

Regarding research : I cannot recommend anyone because I have never used any services. There are many available on-line.

One way that you may consider is entering website : genealodzy.pl and sending a post that you are looking for a researcher.
