Transcription/ Translation Request - Deaths of 4 Members of One Family
I am trying to piece together the story behind one particular family who lived in the Weener area of Ostfriesland in the early to mid-1800s. I am starting to think this family suffered a great deal of tragedy. @Ulrich Neitzel has helped me get started with a transcription and translation of the marriage of the parents which is very much appreciated. I would now like to focus on four deaths in the family that occurred within a short time frame.
There were two deaths recorded in 1861 - Margarethe Roze on 16 March 1861 (age 19 years) and her older sister Antje on 25 Auguste 1861 (age 23 years). This is the record of their deaths….

The following year their brother Samuel died on 28 June 1862 (age 17 years) …

Then a short time later their mother Hindertje (Samuels) Roze died on 9 March 1864 at the relatively young age of 61. This is the record of her death …

I would really appreciate a transcription in German plus an English translation of each of those records so that I can hopefully come to some understanding about what happened.
If the translator or anyone else has an idea of what may have lead to so many deaths in one family in such a short period of time to people who had survived childhood, I would welcome hearing what you think could have happened, even if it is just speculation.
I’ll attach a screenshot of the family unit in case that offers any help when assessing the situation.
My deepest thanks I advance.

@Ulrich Neitzel : Once again, thank you for your kindness. I appreciate the high level of care you have given to these translations - the attention to detail is remarkable.
This family unit is now appearing to be a key one in my ancestor research, and I'm starting to see now the influence they had on my more recent family. I have three more small questions about this family which I need to resolve. I will post those separately, as you recommended, later this week.
My very best regards, Ian

Hi Ian,
generally speaking it is advisable to post a new translation request for each record - this makes the task better manageable for the translators and allows a better overview which tasks are still open. I will start here with the first two records:

Regarding the cause of death the entries in the old records are often not very conclusive; they name rather symptoms than a diagnosis in modern meaning. Ulcers or abcesses can be the consequence of various illnesses. The German term Geschwüre applies both to internal (e.g. stomach) and external abcesses.
The cause of death for Samuel is Schwindsucht (TBC) and for their mother Wassersucht (dropsy/edema); full translation to follow.
The family name is both written Roze and Rose; the more typical German form would be Rose.

No. 2
Location of death: Halte
Name, status and residence of the deceased: Hindertje Roze, née Samuels, wife of the workman H. Rose in Halte
Age of the deceased: 61 years
Parents of the deceased: Daylaborer Samuel Peters Samuels and his wife Antje née Jans
Day and hour of death: 9 March 1864, 1 am
Cause of death: dropsy
Date of burial: 13 March 1864
Remarks: left behind husband and one son of legal age. Addition: The date in column 10 must not be 9 March but 13 March
Name of the church book recorder and date: Everts, 9 March 1864
My comment: Although the death of three children and his wife within three years was certainly tragic for Hinderk Rose, it was probably not too uncommon in those times. There is no indication that these deaths were related by some common cause, except maybe for the two daughters ("ulcers"). The mother had already reached the typical life span and may have been mentally weakened by the death of her children.
