Strange entry for godparents:
I can't believe I am coming to you again this month. I'm usually fairly independent. I have found the same (almost) entry on two birth records for this family, and I have no idea what it is telling me. Here is what I have so far:
On 10 August 1668 Daniel Schmidt and his wife Dorothea baptized a son here named Augustus. Godfather ????? (I do not understand the rest of this) Godmother Elizabeth Zottl wife of Vritz Lupsch. (The scribe made a mistake here he is Vritz Zottl in other records.)
Thank you so much. Again!

@SharonWolfsClark To continue from Godparents (Pathen), it says something like "Pathen sind alhier, deß wohl ehrwürdigen Herren Pfarrers, sein Vatter mitt nachieren Fritz [...], Gefaterin (Gevatterin) Elisabeth Zottlin deß Fritz Lupsch seine Haußfrau." (The godparents are here, the honorable pastor; his godfather with the local (?) Fritz [...?]; godmother Elisabeth Zottl, wife of Fritz Lupsch)

I have four entries very much like the one above. Here is the copy of another one. These scribes are trying to communicate something that makes sense.
Could they be telling us that someone is standing in for an absent godparent?
I chose a record with better handwriting. Again, I can read most of it, the godfather information is the big question.
Thanks again.

Here is another entry for the same family that is more normal. The same Godfather (I think) is shown. Of course I cant read it, but I don't understand a lot about this family.
He might come from Mähren, but is it disputed land? Both google and my dictionary say that the Zw word means hermaphrodite??
Does this record help with deciphering the other records? Sorry I am being such a pest, but four birth records in this family look like this.

@SharonWolfsClark Zwittau (or Svitavy) is a town in the Czech Republic. In both cases, the record indicates the birthplace of the godfather.

Thanks, you've worked hard to help me with this. I really appreciate the help. I guess the entry is confusing because the godfather is not a local guy.
