I'm trying to find out more about my parents birthplace and relatives. I've been unable to find anything on the location of either place on Openarch or Wiewaswie

My Father was Jan Herman Juurlink, born in Slagharen Netherlands in 1951. He would have been baptized Catholic shortly after his home birth.

My Mother is Henrika Van Roestel, born in Riel Netherlands in 1949. She also would have been baptized shortly after her birth.

My Opa was also Jan Herman Juurlink, likely born somewhere in or near Slagharen. He was either born in 1910 or 1911, I think the latter.

My Oma was Wilhelmeina (Belt) Juurlink born near Slagharen Netherlands likely in 1918.

I did not find information about your father Jan Herman Juurlink, but here is an obituary for his brother. Joseph Juurlink was born on the 1st of May, 1948 in Slagharen, Overijssel. He passed away on December 9 2016 in Creston, British Columbia, Canada. He was predeceased by your father, Jan Herman Juurlink.

Joseph had 2 other brothers, Bernhard and Charles, and 4 sisters Trudy, Elizabeth, Mary-Anne, and Helena.

for a long time to come.

I did some searching, but basically wat i found was about what Mieke presented above..

It would help a lot if your father was naturalised,because most of the time place of birth will be on that document.Furthermore,Canadian immigration records are better than the Dutch census rekords.

Do you know port of entry?, primary destination, naturalistation,way of shipment, first port of mooring...

Any term can be of help as a searchterm..;

Thank you for the response. He was naturalized in Canada but I don't know port of entry. His family flew to Canada. Both his parents were born in Slagharen- my uncle got back to me on that.
