Does the Salt Lake City own the roman catholic family books from Orzydorf 1785-2018 by Dietmar Giel
I was just looking at two new family booksfor the roman catholic church for Hungary that looks like were published in 2018:
Orzydorf 1785-2018 by Dietmar Giel and Weisenahid 1770-2018 by Richard Sebestian Jaegar. Does the Salt Lake City Family History have them? Or, does anyone else have them? I am looking for a couple family names in those towns/villages.

I checked the online catalog of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. The FHL does not have either book.
I then checked World Cat online. The Library of Congress in Washington, DC, appears to be the only library in the United States which holds a copy of the Dietmar Giel book. The full title is:
Ortssippenbuch Orzydorf im Banat 1785-2018 by Dietmar Giel. It is a two-volume set.
I believe the second title you are looking for is:
Familienbuch Wiesenhaid 1770-2018 by Richard S. Jäger. I could find no copies of this title held by any library in the U.S.

There are a few of things that come to mind when researching The Banat for Orczydorf.
1. Family Search online catalog has some online Hungarian church records at: https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1743180
2. The Family Search online catalog has records viewable online for Orcifalva, one of which has an index that may be of help to you. See: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/310327?availability=Family%20History%20Library.
3. RootsWeb contains two mailings lists; Banat Mailing List and Donauschwaben Villages Helping Hands (DVHH). See: https://mailinglists.rootsweb.com/listindexes/search?query=banatThese lists likely have members that own the books you seek and may do a look-up for you.

Ok!! Thank you! I have a couple questions though. I clicked on the webpage for the above Orzydorf online microfilm but I can’t see how to access it. It says 0 documents available. How do I open up the microfilm?
Also, for rootsweb and dvhh do I need to be members of those for them to help? I don’t understand how to use those resources. If you can explain that would be amazing.

Thank you for these resources! Can you tell me how the two mailing lists work that are on rootsweb? can you "e-mail" back and forth with others ? Does it take lots of time to get a response?
