Translation help please
In looking at this death/burial record, I see the word "infans" in the first line. Does this mean that Jacobub died as an infant, or just that he was their child. I haven't found his birth record yet. Thanks for any help, it's record 28 on the attached link, on the right side of the page.

The Latin word "infans" translates as child or infant.
In this context "infans" is being used to identify Jacobus, who died at the age of three months, as the child/infant of Johann Scherer and his wife Catharine Koenig. He died on the 9th of October and was buried on the 13th of the same month. The parents are from Hermeskeil.
"Jacobus" is Latin for: Jacob.
