Wilhelm Metzger, a resident citizen and (I want to say Käsemeister, but I feel I am missing a letter. Ernst Thodes German English Genealogical Dictionary, provided no entry) from here, born the 4 July 1821. Legitimate, single son of the deceased Wilhelm Metzger, former citizen, and (cheesemaker?) from here and Elisabetha born [He?s] married Christiana Scholl, born the 14 April 1822, legitimate single daughter of Wilhelm Scholl, citizen and farmer from here.
Witnesses were: I think that part is clear
At this opportunity Wilhelm Metzger explained of his own accord, that he is the father of two children of Cynthia Scholl his (?) wife....

I do believe Käsemeister means cheesemaker!
FYI From her father's family book it says she had two children out of wedlock:
no. 3 Christine:
NB [note well]: Christine had out of wedlock: (1) Wilhelm, born 17 Dec 1844. (2) Christina, born 11 Jun 1846. Both children were legitimized: see Marriage Book: 1848, no. 13.

Ha! I suspected as much. Need to keep you on your toes. Technically, I am not supposed to translate these, only extract the genealogical data, but I was feeling generous, and I haven't seen one like this before.
In essence, we are informed of the birth of a son, Wilhelm, born the 17 December, who is entered into the local parish records, subpage (homage to French) 190 Nr. 84, and then a girl was born, Christiana, the 11 June 1846, who is also found in the local parish register, subpage 240 Nr. 41. Of his own volition W. Metzger provided this information before these witnesses, that these two children are his (even though they were born out of wedlock) and that their rights are the same as the children born in marriage. And yes, there are signatures under the title of who provided them.

Wilhelm Metzger is a "Küfermiester" = master cooper and his late father is a Küfer = cooper.

CynthiaChristina Scholl . . .Those "curvy" symbols in the left margin represent the word "und" = and.

Okay, I KNEW it wasn't Käsemeister, that would be too cheesy! Thank you! Küfermeister makes more sense, because of the ascending and descending consonant between the vowels! Dankeschön!

The signatures on the second page are very interesting. How often do you see original signatures of ancestors?
F Wilhelm Scholl (Christina's father), Christina Scholl (Christina herself, bride), T. Wilhelm Metzger (cooper, groom), Georg Stafer. The other three persons are tough to read.
It appears when you want to make it right with the church, in terms of an illegitimate child, everyone needs to sign off.

Annette, Recently I had a death record translated in which the husband died at 10 pm and the wife five hours later. I asked my wife how that happened? She said they probably had the same disease. I said no, I think the husband died and five hours later the wife died of a broken heart.
I do like the kind way you think about Wilhelm Metzger.
