Philipp Krauss' occupation is given as Ortsdiener, literally local servant. I translated it as "beadle", not sure if this a good match. An Ortsdiener ran errands for the community administration and was responsible for announcements. Furthermore, he had to perform municipal police services as a lower level policeman.
Vögisheim (https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/21035143) is a village about 200 km (125 mi) south of Graben.

Ulrich: Two years after this marriage the couple will immigrate to America. (1854) The fact Georg Friedrich Krauss was a shoemaker may help us to locate the family in the USA. So much great information. I wish everyone had a family tree with this much detail!
